Macaw Care
Macaw care requires effort, time, and understanding on the owner's part; chicks require careful maintenance by a good breeder.
These birds cannot live in cold climates; they require a large outdoor enclosure with a warm shelter for spending the night and making nests. The cage should be made of strong metal mesh; as these birds, especially larger species have very strong bills.

In the wild these parrots feed on a variety of plant matter: fruits, seeds, buds, nuts, insects and young leaves. In captivity they should be fed the same food with vitamin and mineral supplements.
