Scalet Macaw

These beautiful birds originated from the Central and South America, where they inhabit tropical forests below 3300 feet, coast scrublands and woodlands. They are endangered because of habitat loss, competition for food with domestic animals, trapping for pet trade and hunting for food.

The plumage of these birds is brilliant red, with yellow tops of the wings and green tips of coverts. These parrots are rather large compared to their relatives.
