Surely, captive bred birds are the only available in pet stores. Trading in wild caught parrots is banned in most countries. Some species are on the brink of extinction and nine species of macaws are already extinct because of uncontrolled trapping.

Almost all parrots revert to wild behavior, no matter where they were raised and socialized. Biting and noisiness cannot be trained out of these pets completely; so these pets are not the ideal choice for any family. Large parrots need much place and the company. Chicks should be checked out in a photo beforehand; you don't want an ugly bird.
